Maize

Via ah-yi I found maize, a blog that posts the most beautiful photo's, patterns, fabric, art and inspiration. I got the above photo's from there. It's in French, so I can't understand the text, but it doesn't matter. It's all quite abstract, so it makes it more interesting not knowing exactly what everything is. xxxx

Attempted passport photos

I thought I'd share my attempts at getting a passport photo of my 19-month old son. Under Australian law passport photos must be clear, and of the appropriate size. They must also have the subject looking directly at the camera, head not tilted, not laughing or frowning, and the mouth must be closed.

We tried to have it done in the photo lab but they sent us home because he kept smiling and behaving like a clown. So I tried with the digital camera, and thought, by a miracle that I'd got what they were after with the middle, left photo. Unfortunately it was rejected because the light source was from one side rather than front on.

I honestly thought we'd have to postpone our overseas trip until he's old enough to sit still, but thankfully I tried again at a photo lab when he was tired and too grumpy to smile. We got the shot the passport office was after and we can go overseas after all (if I manage to fill out the rest of the form properly)! xxxx

Valentines day message on the footpath

Johnny and I were too busy to celebrate Valentines Day this year, but I found this adorable bunch of flowers painted onto the footpath this afternoon in Bondi. I hope the person it was meant for got to see it. So sweet! xxxx

Big Smiles

Busy day at work today, but I smiled when I got home to find these beach photos. It seems the boys had fun without me. These installations of Sarah Applebaum's made me smile just as much when I first saw them on Urban Outfitters. Sarah uses bright, granny blankets and other found, knitted goods. Op Shopping & Elmo

Just a couple of days after I got Lukas an Elmo toy I found a massive one for a third of the price at the local Op shop. I love Elmo!! xxxx

Happy Birthday Lukas!

It was Lukas's 1st birthday yesterday, and this is the cake I cooked him. I lovingly baked it with all organic ingredients and spelt flour, but then ruined the healthy mix with bright yellow food colouring! Oh well .... xxxx

Happy Halloween & happy cats

I feel a bit guilty cause I forgot it was Halloween, but I did do a couple of cat drawings when I was on the phone to a friend - including a black cat, which is kind of Halloween specific. Anyway - hope everyone gets lots of lovely treats! xxxx

Great colours and a birthday

Bad week of internet problems - so excuse the lack of web presence. I sent Johnny out to get some Fimo the other day, and I was so impressed with the colours he came back with I scanned the packets. Also it was his birthday the other day. Made him a card but the printer didn't work. xxxx

No right to be in a bad mood

For the last two days I've been quite grumpy because we're a bit sick, so today I purposely took some photo's on my walk to remind myself that I don't really have a right to be in a bad mood at all.
