The top images are photo's of some glass windows from an apartment block down the road. I added the black and white shapes in Illustrator. And the striped dresses are by Ivana Helsinki who I found via Fly Girls. xxxx

Illustration Friday

I was all set to join Illustration Friday, but once I got onto the site I realised I didn't have the energy to upload thumbnails and create sign in names etc. Next Friday perhaps... xxxx

Sausage dogs

And here's some doodles I did on the plane. Sausage dogs and rabbits just in case you can't tell, and a note I'd written to myself to try and find an image of a 1968 Paco Rabanne dress I saw in the new Christian Lacroix book. I didn't find it - but I did find these 60's dresses, plagarised off google images. xxxx

half hearted love heart

Here's the Valentine's Day love heart. It actually looks much better with only half the lines. I'm gonna muck around later with text but that might make it too busy. We'll see... xxxx

Owl Drawing

I just worked all weekend. Working as a newspaper graphic-artist can be a bit like working as a fireman. Sometimes you have to sit around waiting for the action to happen. Yesterday was really busy and I didn't have time to look sideways. Today, however, things were completely dead. I only had to do one, tiny job, so spent half the day doing this owl (above) in Illustrator, and the other half of the day looking around on Etsy. I found these really cute kids and babies recycled t-shirts. xxxx

Cross Stitched Alphabet

For the last couple of days I've been using my spare moments to make the alphabet out of squares and crosses so it looks like cross-stitching, and then made these little digital doilies (below) while I was watching television. Click to enlarge. xxxx

Twiggy

I did a drawing of Twiggy this afternoon to make into another badge, and I put her beside two other existing badges I've made. They don't resemble anyone I know or know of - they're just random drawings. xxxx

Zebra drawing

I did a drawing of a zebra at work today and then added some squiggles around it when I got home. Zebra's are definitely not just black and white. I was looking closely at the photo and there's beautiful browns and greys on a zebra's coat too. I categorised it under television doodling, even though I did it at work cause it reminds me of the type of drawing I'd do in front of the television. xxxx

Happy New Year 2008!

Quiet night in - which is actually the way I like it, especially when there's chaos outside. The Brazillian's downstairs are having a party, so no lack of festivities in the building. And we can hear the music from Bondi Beach. Hope everyone has a great start to 2008! xxxx

New Years Eve plans

Not that I'm complaining, but a friend did have tickets to watch the fireworks at the best possible location on Sydney's harbour foreshore, but we would have had to wreck someone else's New Years Eve as it wouldn't be a very baby friendly environment. Anyway, I'm sure we'll have a lovely time watching the fireworks on television, and have an even lovelier time on New Years Day when everyone else is feeling sick and we're feeling fantastic!! Reworked drawing

Just got back from the Sydney College of the Arts exhibition and, in an inspired mood reworked a drawing I wasn't happy with. Not sure if I like this any better. I'll decide tomorrow. Click to enlarge. xxxx

Partridges and Pears

This doesn't look the slightest bit like a Christmas card - but I was drawing partridges today, and put them in a tree with pears. xxxx

Happy Halloween & happy cats

I feel a bit guilty cause I forgot it was Halloween, but I did do a couple of cat drawings when I was on the phone to a friend - including a black cat, which is kind of Halloween specific. Anyway - hope everyone gets lots of lovely treats! xxxx

Great colours and a birthday

Bad week of internet problems - so excuse the lack of web presence. I sent Johnny out to get some Fimo the other day, and I was so impressed with the colours he came back with I scanned the packets. Also it was his birthday the other day. Made him a card but the printer didn't work. xxxx
