My friend Anna has started making clever, handpainted gift cards called 'Cards for complicated people' which are available on Etsy (images above). This is the first time I've seen the airbrushed red, burgundy and blue painting (left) in the flesh rather than in books. It's by my uncle Paul Partos and is called Vesta II, done in 1968. The other paintings (left to right) are by Trevor Vickors (I'll have to double check this) and James Doolin -
also done in the late 60's. The picture was taken at the Art Gallery of NSW, Australia.

I recently saw a painting of Malene Landgreen's on the cover of a Scandanavian design magazine. She's a contemporary Danish painter who also does installed architectural works. You can see her work from a recent exhibition here. xxxx
